Austin Maloney

Austin counsels strategic clients, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies in executing merger and acquisition strategies and has extensive experience advising clients in connection with domestic and cross-border acquisitions and dispositions.

Austin has led teams executing some of the earliest investments in legal managed service organizations (MSOs). He represents a wide spectrum of participants in the legal services industry, including private equity funds, strategic investors, litigation funding groups, AI-native law firms, legal tech platforms, and law firm partners. He has experience in a broad range of legal sectors from one-partner boutique firms to full-service corporate firms with personal injury, insurance defense, creditor’s rights, intellectual property, family law, and immigration practices. Austin is frequently asked to provide commentary on the fast-developing legal services transactional space and has been quoted in The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Law360, Bloomberg News, and PitchBook, among others.

Austin’s experience covers a breadth of industries and client types. He regularly advises clients in regulated industries on their investment and M&A strategies. This includes a significant number of engagements advising buyers and sellers in mortgage-industry transactions.
