Michael Goldman was named to Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 for his extensive pro bono work. His pro bono work first started in 2007 when asked if he was interested in working with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where he helped recover wages for unpaid work for undocumented people working as contract employees. Goldman says helping folks who don’t understand the legal market to get the wages they’re entitled to is the right thing to do. In addition to his pro bono work with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Michael regularly represents nonprofit organizations on a pro bono basis. Michael feels his impact is strongest by helping and offering his services to nonprofits. In a world where the average goal for a law firm lawyer’s pro bono work is about 40 hours per year, Goldman aims for 100 hours a year or more, with the majority of the work involving nonprofits.
