Andrews Kurth Kenyon and Dias Carneiro Represent IIC in $500 Million Loan to Banco do Brasil S.A.
On June 2, 2017, Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IIC”), in its capacity as a lender and as agent acting on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”), closed on a US$500 million unsecured A/B loan facility to Banco do Brasil S.A. (“Banco do Brasil”).
The proceeds of the loan will be used by Banco do Brasil to finance the working capital needs of micro and small sized enterprises who are engaged in business along the agribusiness value chain in Brazil.
The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP advised IIC as international counsel. Local Brazilian legal advice to IIC was provided by Dias Carneiro Advogados and local Cayman legal advice to IIC was provided by Harney Westwood & Riegels.
Linklaters LLP advised Banco do Brasil as international counsel. Local Brazilian legal advice to Banco do Brasil was provided by Campos Mello Advogados and local Cayman legal advice to Banco do Brasil was provided by Travers Thorp Alberga.
