Andrews Kurth Represents IDB in $6.7 Million Loan to Caribe Hospitality of Jamaica Limited

(Washington, DC)—On November 21, 2014, the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”) closed on a US$ 6.75 million secured loan facility to Caribe Hospitality of Jamaica Limited in Kingston, Jamaica, co-financed with the International Finance Corporation which also closed on November 21, 2014.

The proceeds of the loan will be used to finance the construction of a 129-room Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica, including the back-up generator, fuel storage and related facilities. The hotel will be managed by Ritz Carlton Inc.

The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth LLP, advised the IDB as international counsel. Local legal advice was provided by the Jamaican firm of Hart Muirhead Fatta and Consortium in Costa Rica.
