The Geek Who's Policing Your Privacy, Bloomberg Businessweek

The Federal Trade Commission's first chief technologist, Edward W. Felten, plans to help find the middle ground between consumer groups' demands for digital privacy protections and marketers' hunger for unfettered access to consumers. Lisa Sotto, head of the firm’s privacy group, says that while companies try to figure out what the future looks like, both in terms of technology and the legal guidelines, they should include him in their discussions and not view him as an adversary. Sotto focuses on privacy, data security and information management issues.
