Doug Granger was featured in The Richmond Times-Dispatch Decision Maker Series highlighting his extensive legal career at Hunton & Williams. Doug, a partner in the mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance team, began his work for the firm as a summer associate and worked his way up to his current position of Richmond office managing partner. Doug cites the difficult decision of choosing between business and law as the stepping stone to his most important career move: choosing a transactional practice which, “involves some of the attractive features of both.” Two of Doug’s Hunton mentors, Allen Goolsby and Gordon Rainey bestowed the best advice that he has ever received, “It is amazing what you learn when you listen and don’t lose sight of what you are trying to accomplish.” Doug has carried this guidance with him through his career and life outside the firm.
