Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP was named to The National Law Journal’s Appellate Hot List for the third consecutive year. The list recognizes law firms that have “won key matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals, staying true to their practice philosophies along the way.”

Hunton Andrews Kurth has an accomplished issues-and-appeals practice, co-chaired by Stuart Raphael and Elbert Lin, former solicitors general of Virginia and West Virginia respectively.  Hunton Andrews Kurth has represented clients in federal and state appellate courts nationwide, including in the Supreme Court of the United States.  Highlights this past year include several landmark victories in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Virginia, as well as the addition of Judge Thomas B. Griffith, who retired last fall after fifteen years of distinguished service on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  Described by the Washington Post as “widely respected by people in both parties” and a “sober lawyer with an open mind,” Judge Griffith remains active in the public sphere. Among other engagements, he serves on the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States.
