Hunton Advises on Duke Energy Ohio, Inc.’s $350 Million First Mortgage Bonds Offering
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. (the “Company”) on an SEC-registered offering of $350 million aggregate principal amount of First Mortgage Bonds, 5.30% Series, due June 15, 2035.
The Company, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Duke Energy Corporation, is a regulated public utility primarily engaged in the transmission and distribution of electricity in portions of Ohio and Kentucky, in the generation and sale of electricity in portions of Kentucky, and the transportation and sale of natural gas in portions of Ohio and Kentucky. As of December 31, 2024, the Company’s service area covers approximately 3,000 square miles and supplies electric service to 920,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers and provides transmission and distribution services for natural gas to approximately 560,000 customers. As of December 31, 2024, the Company’s asset portfolio includes approximately 1,173 megawatts of owned generation capacity, 19,900 miles of distribution lines and 1,700 miles of transmission lines.
