Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises Underwriters of Indiana Michigan Power Company’s $500 Million Senior Notes Offering
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP represented the underwriters in connection with an SEC-registered offering by Indiana Michigan Power Company ("I&M") of $500 million aggregate principal amount of its 5.625% Senior Notes, Series P, due 2053. The transaction closed on March 23, 2023.
I&M is a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company ("AEP") and is part of AEP's vertically integrated utilities segment. I&M is organized in Indiana and is engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to approximately 609,000 retail customers in northern and eastern Indiana and southwestern Michigan, and supplies and markets electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities, rural electric cooperatives and other market participants. I&M owns or leases 3,662 MWs of generating capacity, and uses its generation to serve its retail and other customers.
