Hunton Andrews Kurth Names Todd Brown Charlotte Office Managing Partner
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that A. Todd Brown, co-head of the firm’s commercial litigation group, has been appointed managing partner of the firm’s Charlotte office.
Brown’s 30-year practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He has litigated complex employment matters involving executive-level exposure under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act and ERISA, as well as sexual harassment and wrongful discharge cases.
Brown also co-chairs the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, is an active member of the Associates and Screening committees, and has been involved in numerous community organizations, including currently serving as chair of the North Carolina State Bar’s grievance committee. Brown is also is a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
“Todd brings to his new position longtime leadership experience and the ability to foster strong relationships,” said Gustavo J. Membiela, co-chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “He will continue to strengthen the Charlotte office and our firm.”
Established in 1995, Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Charlotte office is comprised of nearly 30 lawyers representing both domestic and international clients in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities law, banking and finance, structured finance, litigation, labor and employment, employee benefits, and energy and environmental law.
Brown succeeds Frank E. Emory Jr., who joined Novant Health as executive vice president and chief legal officer in January 2019.
Brown joined the firm in 1986 and has been based in Charlotte for 20 years. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina.
