Hunton Andrews Kurth Promotes Three to Counsel

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of three lawyers to counsel. The firm proudly recognizes these talented individuals for their accomplishments and outstanding client service.

Douglas L. Dua (Energy Transactions, New York) represents sponsors, investors and providers of financing in a variety of energy transactions, primarily within the power generation sector. Dua focuses his practice on renewables, energy storage and other advanced energy technologies. He has represented parties to domestic and international transactions of varying structures and complexity, including the development and construction of distributed energy asset portfolios and an advanced nuclear generating facility portfolio, and single-asset mergers and acquisitions, formation and governance of partnerships and negotiation of construction, supply and service agreements. He has also represented parties to tax equity financing and loan transactions. Dua received his undergraduate degree from Colby College and his law degree from the Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.

Lauren Freeland (Energy Regulatory, Dallas) focuses her practice on energy regulation and litigation, including counseling and representing utility companies in proceedings before the Public Utility Commission of Texas, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Railroad Commission of Texas, and other state regulatory agencies, as well as in Texas state court and in arbitration. She also represents and counsels clients on compliance matters before the North American Electric Reliability Corporation and the Texas Reliability Entity. Freeland received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas, graduating with honors, and her law degree from Baylor Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Ryan J. Pedraza (Public-Private Partnerships, Richmond) advises public agencies, developers, investors and lenders on the development and financing of large-scale infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors including transportation. He has extensive experience in all phases of Public-Private Partnerships (P3s), from project planning and procurement to the negotiation and administration of project agreements, and has been involved with marquee P3s throughout the United States. Pedraza received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from William & Mary Law School.
