Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents IDB Invest in $75 Million Loan to Banco Multiple BHD S.A.

On December 28, 2023, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest) as lender of the IDB Invest Loan, closed on an up to $75 million subordinated unsecured financing to Banco Múltiple BHD S.A. (Banco Múltiple BHD), a financial institution organized and existing under the laws of the Dominican Republic. Banco Múltiple BHD will use the proceeds of the loans to expand its women-led SMEs financing in the Dominican Republic. The proceeds will also be used to strengthen its capital structure by increasing its Tier 2 Capital in accordance with local banking laws and regulations.

The US-based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest as international counsel. Medina Garnes Abogados advised it on matters related to Dominican Republic laws.
