Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents Remarketing Agent in Connection with Mississippi Power Company Tax-Exempt Remarketing

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP acted as counsel to PNC Capital Markets LLC, as remarketing agent, in connection with the remarketing of $50,000,000 Mississippi Business Finance Corporation Revenue Bonds (Mississippi Power Company Project), First Series 2010 (the “Bonds”).  The Bonds were initially issued to provide funds to finance the acquisition and construction of buildings and immovable equipment in connection with the construction of an integrated coal gasification combined cycle electric generating facility by Mississippi Power Company (“Mississippi Power”) in Kemper County, Mississippi.

Mississippi Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Southern Company. Mississippi Power is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within 23 counties of southeastern Mississippi, at retail in 123 communities (including Biloxi, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Meridian and Pascagoula), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale.
