Hunton & Williams LLP Adds David J. Stander To Litigation Practice

WASHINGTON — April, 4, 2012 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces David J. Stander has joined the firm's growing complex commercial litigation practice as counsel in its Washington office. Stander comes to the firm from the Department of Justice, Criminal Division, where he worked closely with senior lawyers within Justice and litigators in the US Attorney's offices.

Michael J. Mueller, cohead of the firm's complex commercial litigation practice, says, "Dave has an extensive background in labor matters that involve RICO and ERISA issues. Our clients will benefit from Dave's experience in analyzing and advocating on these important legal issues that often arise in the complex civil cases that we handle."

Stander has more than 30 years of experience handling cases involving RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) criminal prosecutions and civil litigation, including ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) regulatory and civil litigation. Prior to joining Justice, Stander served in the Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, and has extensive experience with the Labor Management Relations Act and the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act.
