Hunton & Williams LLP Lawyers Brownell, Murphy Named 'Groundbreaking Lawyers'

ashington — December 4, 2009 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces Washington lawyers F. William Brownell and Ted J. Murphy were named "Groundbreaking Lawyers" by Public Utilities Fortnightly in its first-ever report of lawyers who play integral roles in shaping law and policy affecting the utility industry. Brownell was noted for environmental litigation and Murphy for RTOs, transmission and reliability.

Brownell's practice focuses on environmental litigation, regulation and counseling, including climate change regulation and litigation, clean air regulation and litigation, environmental licensing and auditing, and other environmental matters. Murphy's practice focuses on energy regulation, particularly FERC electric regulation and market issues, FERC and NERC reliability issues, the implementation of federal policies designed to promote the development of renewable energy, and electric sector transactions that implicate the Federal Power Act and the Public Utility Holding Company Act ("PUHCA") of 1935.
