Cyber to Dominate State of the Union

The Hill

In The Hill, Lisa Sotto points out that President Obama’s focus on cybersecurity and privacy “reflects the mood of the American public” that the nation’s leaders need to take action toward protecting American citizens from cyber attacks. Although Paul Tiao thinks the proposals won’t receive “wholehearted support” from the industry or privacy advocates, he believes they will “contribute to what likely will be a meaningful debate over these issues.” Leader of Hunton & Williams’ global privacy and cybersecurity practice, Sotto focuses on privacy, cybersecurity and records management issues. Tiao served as the Senior Counselor for Cybersecurity and Technology to the FBI Director prior to joining Hunton & Williams.
