Two Los Angeles Partners Recognized by Los Angeles Business Journal as “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys”

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that Los Angeles Partners Roland M. Juarez and Julia Y. Trankiem have been featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys.” The awards recognize the most influential minority attorneys in Los Angeles County.

Juarez handles high-stakes employment cases with an innovative approach. His experience includes class actions, non-compete, non-solicitation and employee raiding cases, discrimination, harassment, disability, wage and hour, PAGA and Title III website accessibility cases. He has secured numerous trial and arbitration wins in wage and hour cases and various discrimination cases, including precedent-setting wins in several industries. Juarez received his J.D. from Columbia Law School (1992) and his B.A. from University of Mexico (1989).

Defending management in a broad range of employment matters, Trankiem collaborates and partners with companies to solve complex employment issues. She has represented employers across wide-ranging industries in class, collective, representative and hybrid actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. Trankiem’s wage and hour experience includes litigation involving claims of misclassification, off-the-clock work and unpaid overtime, and meal and rest period violations. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School (2003) and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (2000).
