Rudene Mercer Haynes leads the Virginia Bar Association’s Public Service Committee, which has worked on the association’s new Duty to Care Initiative, an effort to help lawyers deal with the stress of the job. “As a profession, we tend to not want to talk about ourselves,” she tells Virginia Lawyers Weekly. “We wanted a gentle way to normalize conversations about mental health, physical health and emotional well-being.”
