On Friday, February 27, 2026, the California Privacy Protection Agency (“CPPA”) will hold a public meeting at 9:00 am PST to discuss upcoming rulemaking activities. In a January 2026 webinar with the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (“CIPL”), CPPA General Counsel Philip Laird previewed several topics on which  the CPPA intends to initiate formal rulemaking in 2026, including employee data, California Consumer Privacy Act-mandated notices and disclosures, reducing friction in consumers’ ability to exercise their privacy rights, and opt-out signals.

The meeting will also include an update from the CPPA’s Executive Director, Tom Kemp, and an update from CPPA staff on the Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform.

Attendees can join in person or online via Zoom. Information on how to attend the meeting, as well as the meeting agenda, here.
