Hunton & Williams LLP proudly announces that the firm’s Global Privacy and Cybersecurity practice was ranked in Tier 1 in The Legal 500 United States 2014 guide for cyber crime and data protection and privacy. Global practice chair Lisa Sotto also was ranked as a leading lawyer and partner Aaron Simpson was highlighted for his work on privacy and cybersecurity matters.

This is the first year cyber crime has debuted in The Legal 500 United States, and Hunton & Williams was ranked in the top tier. According to The Legal 500 United States, “Sotto, who has been described as ‘the queen of the breach’, has been working alongside Aaron Simpson to assist multinational companies with every aspect, including advice on enhancing privacy and cybersecurity, incident response and handling any resulting disputes. The group is also well known for advising on prominent data breaches.”

In addition, this is the fifth consecutive year that the practice has been listed as top-ranked in the category of data protection and privacy by The Legal 500 United States.

The Legal 500 is an editorial guide based on feedback from 250,000 in-house peers that is independently assessed by its researchers and staff “to help corporate counsel” research and select law firm counsel.
