New York – 2026-2028 Pro Bono Fellowship

Hunton invites qualified individuals to apply for a two-year pro bono fellowship based in its New York office.  Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to a career in public interest law. The fellow will focus on representing immigration clients through The Legal Aid Society of New York.  The fellow will also be asked to mentor and partner with lawyers in the firm’s New York office on pro bono cases. The firm intends to fully integrate the fellow into Hunton, with opportunities available to the fellow for legal training, professional development and social participation that are open to associates at the firm.

Length of Fellowship Program:  Two-year program (September 2026 - December 2028)

Location:  Offices of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, New York office (MetLife Building at 200 Park Avenue) and The Legal Aid Society of New York (49 Thomas Street)

Reporting:  Assigned to Hunton Litigation Team, reporting to office pro bono chair

Compensation:  At the time of posting, the expected pay rate range for the position comparable to legal aid and public interest staff attorneys is $85,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation offers may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, training, skill sets, licensure and certifications, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data. School loan repayment program; benefits comparable with those afforded to Hunton associates.

Admission to the New York State Bar by September 2026 is required and prior experience representing immigration clients is preferred. Spanish language proficiency is required.
