Andrews Kurth Announced as a Winner in the 7th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards

(Dallas, TX)—Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that the firm was recently named a winner in the Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (Over $250mm, Real Estate) category of the 7th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards.

The M&A Advisor announced the winners at the 7th Annual Turnaround Awards Gala which honored the leading deal-teams, firms and deal-makers whose activities set the standard for turnaround, reorganization and restructuring transactions. This year, 120 nominees, representing over 300 companies, were finalists for the awards. An independent judging committee of 12 M&A, Restructuring and Finance industry experts determined the ultimate recipients of the awards which were revealed “Academy-Award style” at the gala.

The firm represented Torchlight Loan Services, the Special Servicer, in this Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proceeding. Torchlight Loan Services represented the Lender on a $475 million note secured by 32 apartment complexes in nine different states. The Andrews Kurth team was headed by Monica Blacker, who worked in conjunction with Kathleen Wu, Mark Shoffner, and Karen Wade.
