Andrews Kurth Represents CIFI in a $15 Million Secured Loan to Pacific Solar Energy S.A. de C.V.

(Washington, DC)—On September 28, 2015, the Corporación Interamericana para el Financiamiento de Infraestructura S.A., a sociedad anónima registered under the laws of the Republic of Panama (“CIFI”), closed on a US$15 million dollar secured loan to Pacific Solar Energy S.A. de C.V., a sociedad anónima de capital variable organized under the laws of the Republic of Honduras (the “Borrower”). The proceeds of the loan are intended for the purpose of financing capital expenditures in connection with the construction, development and operation of a photovoltaic power station of up to 50 MW in the Republic of Honduras. The security included pledges of shares of the Honduran project company, a guarantee by the project company’s direct and indirect shareholders residing in the British Virgin Islands and in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, certain sponsor support obligations and a security interest in the insurance policies of the project company.

The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth LLP advised CIFI on the financing.
