Data breach lawsuits, once frowned upon by many courts, now are getting significant attention, Lisa Sotto tells CyberInsecurity News. “Given the stunning series of security events we have experienced over the last five years, the public is increasingly impatient with perceived security lapses,” she says. “The threat of litigation following a data breach has never been greater and is to some extent inevitable in today’s environment.”
