Controversial Rules Hinder SEC Scott Kimpel Tells Investment News

Partisan politics on Capitol Hill has contributed to the SEC regulatory slowdown. Scott Kimpel explains, “[k]nowing that it may lose lawsuits if rules are not airtight … has made the commission gun-shy” when faced with controversial issues. Kimpel is a partner in the Washington office and previously served as counsel to former US Securities and Exchange Commissioner Troy A.
