Gerard “Gerry” Leone Jr. Receives Scouting America’s Distinguished Citizen Award
Hunton Andrews Kurth Special Counsel, Gerard “Gerry” Leone Jr., is among three Boston-area business leaders recently honored with a Distinguished Citizen Award by Scouting America.
On September 24, Leone was recognized by the Spirit of Adventure Council at the 20th Greater Lowell Good Scout Awards Breakfast. The Distinguished Citizen Award is bestowed upon community leaders who demonstrate outstanding civic service in both their professional and personal lives. Attendees at the awards breakfast included former United States Representative Marty Meehan, who currently serves as the president of the University of Massachusetts System.
Upon receipt, Leone remarked that the award, “means so much because it reflects the values of integrity, leadership, and community service that the Scouting movement represents.”
The Greater Lowell Good Scout Breakfast supports all youth programs administered by the Spirit of Adventure Council throughout the Boston region, including Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Tewksbury, Tyngsborough, and Westford. Scouting America serves 76 towns and communities in Massachusetts, including all of Boston, and proudly supports more than 7,300 Scouts and 3,150 volunteers.
