Hunton Andrews Kurth (UK) LLP is advising, as lead international legal counsel, International Finance Corporation (IFC) on its proposed investment, subject to regulatory approval, in Romanian pension fund company Carpathia Pensii which would result in IFC holding approximately 10% of the common shares of Carpathia Pensii.
IFC's planned participation in Carpathia Pensii is intended to strengthen its position in the local pension market and will support Carpathia Pensii's product development and digitalisation strategy, thereby strengthening voluntary pension provision in Romania
IFC — a member of the World Bank Group — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets.
