Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP acted as counsel to Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, as remarketing agent, for the remarketing of $104,375,000 aggregate principal amount of West Virginia Economic Development Authority Solid Waste Disposal Facilities Revenue Bonds (Appalachian Power Company – Amos Project), Series 2009A and 2009B.

Appalachian Power is a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company, Inc., a public utility holding company. Appalachian Power Company is engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to approximately 958,000 retail customers in the southwestern portion of Virginia and southern West Virginia, and in supplying and marketing electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities and other market participants.
