Hunton Andrews Kurth Strengthens Energy, Infrastructure and Latin America Practices with Addition of Alejandro Silva, Former Assistant General Counsel at International Finance Corporation

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce the addition of international counsel*, Alejandro Silva, as it expands its energy, infrastructure and Latin America practices in Washington, D.C.

Silva is a former assistant general counsel at International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank and the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. Silva has more than 30 years of experience facilitating investments, financings and other complex transactions across a broad spectrum of industries in Latin America and the Caribbean. While at IFC, he was responsible for investment and advisory operations in the Latin America and Caribbean region, comprising billions of new loan and equity financings every year, as well as IFC’s corporate and policy matters in the region. Silva also led IFC’s restructuring and financial institutions global legal teams.

Silva received his Juris Doctor from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia. He also has a degree in banking law from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and an administrative law degree from Universidad del Rosario.
