Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that the firm has achieved a perfect score on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and was designated the title “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for the second year in a row.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training. “We are proud that the Corporate Equality Index paved the way to that reality for countless LGBTQ+ workers in America and abroad. But there is still more to do, which is why we are raising the bar yet again to create more equitable workplaces and a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ workers everywhere.”

“As a firm, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion,” said Watson Seaman, partner and co-chair of the LGBTQ Lawyers Subcommittee. “A diverse professional community generates innovation and a well-rounded perspective that benefits not only the firm, but also our clients and others outside the firm. We are gratified to have earned a perfect CEI score and honored to be designated as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.”

The Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool that assesses corporate policies and practices evaluating LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace. The 2022 CEI score is measured based on criteria such as workforce protections, inclusive benefits, workplace culture, and responsible citizenship. The perfect score reflects the firm’s commitment to cultivate a professional environment promoting inclusivity and opportunity for all employees.
