Hunton & Williams Advises Underwriters in $325 Million Senior Notes Offering for Appalachian Power Company
Hunton & Williams LLP represented the underwriters in connection with an SEC registered offering by Appalachian Power Company (“APCo”) of $325 million aggregate principal amount of its 3.300% Senior Notes due 2027. The transaction closed on May 11, 2017.
Appalachian Power Company is a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company (“AEP”) and is part of AEP’s vertically integrated utilities segment. APCo is organized in Virginia and engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to approximately 957,000 retail customers in the southwestern portion of Virginia and southern West Virginia, and in supplying and marketing electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities and other market participants. APCo owns 6,640 MWs of generating capacity. APCo uses its generation to serve its retail and other customers.
