Hunton & Williams Promotes Seven to Counsel, from Corporate and Litigation Practices
NEW YORK — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the promotion of the following seven lawyers to counsel. The firm proudly recognizes these talented individuals for their accomplishments and outstanding client service focus.
Jason M. Beach, Atlanta, joined the firm in 2005, after a two-year federal clerkship with Judge Hugh Lawson, United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, cyber security and data breach issues, and government regulatory matters. In addition to his litigation experience, Jason has focused on cyber security, incident response management, and enterprise information security remediation programs. Before his clerkship with Judge Lawson, Beach was intern for Judge Margaret H. Murphy of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Erick B. Carlson, Richmond, joined the firm in 2006, following graduation from law school. His practice focuses on asset securitization, structured finance, and related corporate finance transactions. He also has substantial experience advising clients about exclusions from registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940, including in connection with the Volcker Rule. Carlson is also committed to community service and volunteers as bishop to a congregation of nearly 600 members.
Veerachai Chuenchompoonut, Bangkok, joined the firm in 2011. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and securities, banking and finance, power projects, construction projects, as well as, general commercial and corporate matters. He has extensive experience in corporate merger and acquisition transactions. Before joining the firm, Chuenchompoonut had more than five years of experience with a global law firm and also worked at the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
Cecilia Oh, Washington, joined the firm in 2006. As the anchor of the outsourcing and technology practice in Washington, Oh represents clients in a broad range of complex technology-related transactions, including information technology, business process and e-commerce outsourcing and payment processing, with a strong focus on the procurement of technology for the retail, health care and community banking industries. Before joining the firm, Oh was associated with a global law firm in Atlanta. Oh sits on the board of directors of the Truancy Intervention Project of Georgia, a non-profit organization committed to combatting chronic school absence.
Kyle A. Owens, Dallas, joined the firm in 2007. His practice focuses on business litigation and arbitration involving a wide range of disputes including contracts, securities, investment, lending, insurance, probate, and trust matters with extensive experience working with clients in the financial-services industry. Owens is involved in the community and serves as an advisory-board member and pro bono counsel for the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an anti-poverty organization, and as a board member for the White Rock YMCA in East Dallas.
Apichart Phankeasorn, Bangkok, serves as the head of the firm’s litigation practice in Thailand, where he provides critical direction in significant litigation. Phankeasorn has conducted banking, commercial and employment lawsuits and white-collar criminal lawsuits at all levels of the Thai courts. Before joining the firm, Phankeasorn was with the dispute resolution and litigation practice of a large global firm; before then he was associated with another global law firm for 12 years.
Alexandrea H. Young, Los Angeles, joined the firm in 2010, after five years with a California-based law firm. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including property disputes, contract claims and business torts. Young has extensive experience representing clients at trial and on appeal in litigation involving claims of breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, tortious interference, nuisance, trespass, eminent domain and inverse condemnation, negligence, and strict liability.
