Los Angeles Business Journal Recognizes Ann Marie Mortimer among 2022 Women of Influence

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP partner Ann Marie Mortimer was honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2022 Top Women Attorneys on their list of Women of Influence. The award recognizes women who have displayed their leadership through professional achievements, community leadership, milestones and awards.

Head of the firm’s commercial litigation practice, Mortimer is well-versed in advising high-profile clients on data protection and compliance with regulatory mandates on privacy and data security. She was recently featured as counsel on one of the Daily Journal’s Top Defense Verdicts in California for her representation one of the largest American multinational big box retailer in a class action lawsuit of an alleged data privacy breach and its precedent-setting decision as one of the first dismissals of a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) claim on the merits. Mortimer has also been named a 2022 Top Cyber Lawyer by the Daily Journal, one of The American Lawyer’s inaugural West Trailblazers and a two-time MVP in Cybersecurity and Privacy by Law360.

Mortimer actively shares her knowledge with her fellow attorneys and legal professionals by regularly speaking on timely issues, preemptively guiding companies to avoid costly financial and reputational damage. Over the last year, she spoke on data privacy litigation at the 11KBW Information Law Virtual Conference, University of San Diego School of Law, ACC SoCal, and  Midwestern Legal Conference. Additionally, Mortimer serves on the firm’s pro bono committee and the executive committee and is the founder and managing partner of the Los Angeles office. She leverages her leadership roles to better the legal profession and those around her, making it a priority to mentor young female lawyers and serving as a counselor to the firm’s new associates.

All nominees, including Mortimer, were featured in the April 18^th edition of the Los Angeles Business Journal and will be profiled in the Women’s Leadership Series throughout the month of June. This will be the fourth time Mortimer has been named among the top women attorneys by the Los Angeles Business Journal as she was named a Top Woman Attorney by the Los Angeles Business Journal from 2018-2020 before its rebranding as Women of Influence this year.
