Latin Lawyer Recognizes Hunton Andrews Kurth as a 2024 Deal of the Year Winner
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to share that the firm was awarded ESG Finance Deal of the Year at Latin Lawyer’s 2024 Awards, an annual event that identifies landmark Latin American deals and cases across eleven categories and celebrates the achievements of practitioners in law firm leadership, diversity, pro bono and more.
The firm was recognized for its representation of U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in the world’s largest debt-for-nature swap, supporting Galápagos marine conservation. Made possible through $656 million in political risk insurance provided by DFC, the debt conversion will allow Ecuador to realize more than $1.126 billion in lifetime savings through reduced debt service costs.
“It was truly an honor to assist DFC’s committed public servants in this enormous achievement to protect the Galápagos Islands and its ecosystem,” said Jamie Head, partner and head of the firm’s Agency Finance practice.
