Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Honors Hunton Andrews Kurth
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has received the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s “Compass Award” and 2021 Top Performer designation for expanding opportunities for diverse lawyers.
Top Performers are LCLD’s most active member corporations and law firms, with the highest level of engagement with LCLD. The award highlights organizations in the top 20 percent for participation in LCLD programs and activities.
The Compass Award was established to recognize LCLD members that show an exemplary commitment to the Council’s goal of creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. To qualify for this honor, members must actively participate in the full suite of LCLD programs designed to attract, inspire, and nurture the diverse talent in their organizations. Among other things, the Compass Award recognizes members that participate in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder Programs, as well as at least one LCLD pipeline program (Mentoring or 1L Scholars).
Hunton Andrews Kurth has demonstrated its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through a variety of efforts, including the firm’s adoption of the Mansfield Rule™, which is intended to increase the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities. The firm has achieved Mansfield Rule™ Certified Plus status each year it has participated in the program.
