Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to share that Boston-based counsels Daniel Stefany and Nicholas D. Stellakis were recently named as 2025 Excellence in the Law honorees by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The annual recognition celebrates Up & Coming Lawyers and honorees for Excellence in Pro Bono, Marketing, Firm Administration and Paralegal Work. Stefany was named among the Up & Coming Lawyers, Massachusetts attorneys who have been practicing for 10 years or less but who have already distinguished themselves. Stellakis was selected for Excellence in Pro Bono, which recognizes individuals who are role models for the way they give back to the larger community.

As part of the firm’s antitrust and consumer protection team, Stefany focuses his practice on class action defense, products liability, toxic torts and complex commercial litigation. He represents clients across a wide range of industries, guiding them through every stage of litigation, from pre-litigation risk management through trial and appeal. He is experienced in products liability and complex commercial litigation, including class action defense, antitrust, toxic torts (including PFAS), consumer protection, and mass torts. Stefany is also active in pro bono litigation, including the defense of race conscious admissions programs, investigative reviews on behalf of the Innocence Project, and litigation involving international child custody disputes and prisoner rights.

Stellakis is a member of Hunton’s issues and appeals team with a practice focused on civil and appellate litigation. He assists clients with a wide variety of litigation matters, including corporate, small business, contract, insurance coverage, maritime, and general business litigation. Stellakis also chairs the Boston office pro bono committee, encouraging his fellow attorneys to participate in pro bono matters and acting as a liaison for many of the firm’s local legal services partners. He maintains an extensive pro bono practice which includes appellate matters and amicus briefing, working directly with veterans in collaboration with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) and supporting local Massachusetts pro bono efforts.

Stefany and Stellakis will be celebrated among the 2025 honorees at an awards event in Boston on March 18. The full list of 2025 Excellence in the Law honorees can be seen here.
