National Legal Aid & Defender Association Names Hunton a 2025 Beacon of Justice Honoree
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that for the third time, and second consecutive year, the firm has been recognized as a Beacon of Justice Award winner by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for pro bono work addressing issues related to civil and human rights. The firm will be honored at the 2025 Exemplar Awards gala, which brings together leadership from the corporate, private, civil legal aid, and public defense communities.
Each year, the awards focus on a specific theme reflecting urgent justice issues. The 2025 Beacon of Justice Awards theme is Sustaining Equal Justice for Families & Communities. This year’s honorees are celebrated for their innovative and impactful work in strengthening civil rights protections, legal representation for families in crisis, community justice initiatives, including housing insecurity and access to healthcare and education, and empowering vulnerable population and underrepresented groups.
NLADA is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. They provide advocacy, guidance, information, training and technical assistance for members of the equal justice community, especially those working in public defense and civil legal aid.
