Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that for the third consecutive year, the firm has been recognized as a Beacon of Justice Award winner by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for pro bono work focused on protecting democracy and civil society. The firm will be honored at the 2026 Exemplar Awards gala on September 24, which brings together leadership from the corporate, private, civil legal aid, and public defense communities.
The Beacon of Justice Awards recognize the legal community’s commitment to expanding access to justice, safeguarding fundamental rights, and strengthening communities across the country. NLADA’s 2026 honorees “have advanced justice in areas including immigration, freedom of speech, and domestic violence, while working to dismantle systemic barriers that limit access to legal assistance.”
NLADA is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. They provide advocacy, guidance, information, training and technical assistance for members of the equal justice community, especially those working in public defense and civil legal aid.
