Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partner Elbert Lin is one of four new members named to the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA) board of advisors. NCLA’s 30-member, bipartisan board of advisors brings together retired judges, academics, former public officials, attorneys, think tank veterans, and communicators who share a deep commitment to advancing civil liberties.

“NCLA is honored to be joined by such distinguished intellectuals and lawyers,” said Phillip Hamburger, CEO of NCLA. “Their insights and advice will help us secure constitutional freedom for all Americans.”

The former Solicitor General of West Virginia, Lin co-chairs the firm’s issues and appeals practice group. With experience in the private sector and multiple branches of government, his practice spans a wide range of issues, including major questions of constitutional and administrative law at the federal and state levels. He has argued more than 70 cases in state and federal appellate courts, including before the US Supreme Court and several en banc courts of appeals. Lin speaks regularly on a variety of topics, including constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, state and federal relations, the US Supreme Court, and appellate practice.
