Real Estate Finance Intelligence TV spoke with Tom Hiner and Peter Mignone in a video interview regarding an emerging trend where more traditional commercial real estate investors are looking at buying pools of REO single-family homes as rental properties. According to Mignone, one challenge has been getting banks comfortable with financing these acquisitions because this asset class "does not have a long historical backdrop" with banks. Hiner said, "We're working with our clients ... to figure out ways to effectively finance these portfolios."
