Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by Reuters Events as a Team of Transition Champions finalist at the second annual Global Energy Transition Awards. The firm also earned a finalist spot at last year’s inaugural awards event in the Team of Energy Champions category.

Reuters says the Team of Transition Champions award “recognizes the teams, divisions, or taskforces that specialize and excel in delivering transition projects. A reliable, low carbon energy system will not be possible without an inspired, committed and future-proofed workforce.”

The firm’s multidisciplinary Energy Transition team includes attorneys from the energy, environmental, corporate and regulatory practices. The wide array of diverse experience allows this collaborative team to help clients identify and weigh strategic options and navigate and overcome legal and regulatory challenges to accomplish their objectives with long-term, sustainable solutions. The team’s key proficiencies include advising clients on development and deployment of new infrastructure and technology; carbon capture and sequestration; decommissioning older facilities and units; environmental, social and governance considerations, including environmental justice; climate change; natural resource conservation; and compliance with the full regime of state and federal environmental laws, among others.
