‘Rising star’ helped ice the Clean Power Plan. Now what? (Elbert Lin featured)
Elbert Lin was featured in Greenwire regarding his “meteoric rise” in the legal world as West Virginia’s Solicitor General and his role in putting President Obama’s landmark climate rule on hold at the U.S. Supreme Court. In February 2016, Elbert made history when the Supreme Court took the unprecedented step of halting the U.S. EPA’s Clean Power Plan while the rule was still being reviewed in a lower court. In the article, Elbert dished about his parents coming to America from Taiwan, playing Ultimate Frisbee in college, and learning lessons about the law from the movie, “My Cousin Vinny.” Elbert did not address speculation about the possibility of an appointment to the federal bench, but did say, “I think I would really enjoy being an appellate court judge if that opportunity presented itself.”
