South Florida Business & Wealth Honors Two Hunton Andrews Kurth Attorneys at 2022 Legal Awards

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that Partner Andrea DeField and Associate Demitrianna Grekos were recognized at the South Florida Business & Wealth 2022 Legal Awards in the categories of Leadership in Law and Junior Associate, respectively. The Legal Awards is an annual event created to acknowledge attorneys whose dedication to their firms, clients and communities deserves particular acclaim. The awards honor lawyers and legal staffers in a variety of leadership roles and sectors, representing Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

DeField, a partner in the insurance coverage practice and co-leader of the firm’s cyber insurance practice, finds risk management, risk transfer and insurance recovery solutions for public and private companies. Her clients include many Fortune 500 companies, particularly in the retail and consumer products, energy, hospitality, and financial services industries. DeField has represented and counseled numerous clients on large cyber-related insurance claims arising out of social engineering and fraudulent transfer schemes, data breaches, cyber extortion, and/or other internationally publicized cyber incidents. As part of her counseling practice, DeField adds value to business deals by advising clients on contractual risk transfer through indemnity, additional insured and required insurance provisions in contracts. She also helps clients identify and mitigate risk before a loss occurs by conducting insurance due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and audits of clients’ insurance programs to identify gaps in coverage before renewal.

An associate in the mergers and acquisitions practice, Grekos focuses on corporate and transactional matters, including cross-border finance, telecommunications, and mergers and acquisitions. She maintains a general corporate practice, representing a broad client base including international finance institutions and multilateral lenders, retail and consumer companies, and telecommunications companies. Additionally, Grekos has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono service, including consistent work with the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association.

DeField, Grekos and the other honorees were recently recognized at an awards presentation and will also be featured in an upcoming issue of South Florida Business & Wealth magazine.
