The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers Inducts Elbert Lin as a Fellow
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that issues and appeals co-head Elbert Lin has been elected as a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers (AAAL).
Founded in 1990, the Academy consists of distinguished lawyers who are “committed to advancing the administration of justice and promoting the highest standards of professionalism and advocacy in appellate courts.” The Academy limits its invitation-only membership to 500 attorneys with at least 15 years in appellate practice and a reputation for integrity and excellence.
Lin co-leads the firm’s issues and appeals practice, having formerly served with distinction as the Solicitor General of West Virginia, a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice and a law clerk to several federal judges including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. He has consistently been on the front lines of many precedent-setting cases in appellate courts across the country, including in the U.S. Supreme Court, where he has not only argued but also had significant success winning stays in the Court’s so-called shadow docket.
