Virginia Lawyers Weekly Honors Two Hunton Partners in 2026 Influential Women of Law
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partners Mayme Donohue and Rudene Mercer Haynes have been recognized among Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2026 Influential Women of Law. Donohue was named to the Influential Women Class of 2026, which honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and their clients, their commitment to their communities, and their service to the profession. Haynes, who was named to the Class of 2021, was recognized in the Circle of Excellence, comprised of former Influential Women honorees who are selected for their sustained level of achievement and record of leadership.
Donohue is co-head of the firm’s technology industry group and a leader of the firm’s AI and emerging technologies practice. She is also a member of the firm’s blockchain working group, and is the associate editor of the Blockchain Legal Resource blog. Donohue regularly addresses complex securities law questions for both public and private companies and is experienced providing advice on reporting requirements under US securities laws and Nasdaq and NYSE rules. She also uses her knowledge of blockchain and distributed ledger technology to advise clients on the impact of disruptive technologies on financial systems and across industries. Donohue serves on the Board of Trustees of Collegiate School, previously served as the President of the Virginia LGBTQ Bar Association, and is committed to strengthening the community through pro bono projects and showing up, especially when no one is watching.
Haynes is managing partner of Hunton’s Richmond office, co-leader of the firm’s servicer advance financing practice, serves on the firm’s executive committee, and has historically represented Ginnie Mae in its multiclass and mortgage-backed securities programs. The results of her work in residential mortgage financing industry have helped make homeownership affordable and possible for many Americans. Haynes previously served as firm-wide hiring partner, and she maintains a commitment to expanding opportunities in the legal profession, mentoring attorneys, and fostering a culture of inclusion for all. Outside of her practice, Haynes is deeply involved in a variety of boards and community organizations, working to make a difference in her community by providing a voice for those most vulnerable.
Honorees will be celebrated at an awards event on February 26. VLW’s special feature on the 2026 Influential Women of Law can be viewed here.
