Overview
Armin is an intellectual property law strategist who advises clients on litigation, prosecution, and transactions involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. With an international background in law, finance, and technology, he helps clients navigate the complexities of IP to make informed business decisions and manage risk—particularly in light of recent advancements in artificial intelligence that are impacting IP law, creating opportunities, fueling growth, and presenting new challenges, all at the same time. Clients appreciate Armin’s proactive, candid, and thoughtful approach and value his creativity and ability to build direct, personal, lasting relationships, through which he develops a deep understanding of their businesses and legal needs.
Armin represents clients throughout the entire IP life cycle, including acquisition and procurement, enforcement, and licensing. He is the architect of IP policy for several clients with rapidly growing portfolios and is frequently engaged to conduct IP audits to identify and address competitive threats and gaps in protection. He also regularly counsels on transactional matters, such as licenses and agreements, diligence reviews, and mergers and acquisitions that include IP assets.
With over 100 district and appellate court appearances, in addition to time spent handling contentious proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office and US International Trade Commission, Armin has extensive litigation experience. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex IP infringement actions and is knowledgeable regarding every stage of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, discovery, witness preparation, dispositive motion practice, mediation, trial, and pre- and post- trial briefing.
His broad IP experience spans industries ranging from technology to retail and consumer products to financial services, and more. Legal 500 refers to him as “a strong choice for tech and cosmetics companies” (2025), while World Trademark Review 1000 has called him “an all-rounder” who “offer[s] up strategic portfolio advice alongside a dynamic contentious practice” (2024), and IAM Patent 1000 has noted that clients state he is “a trusted advisor” with a “knack for understanding the technical aspects of the disclosure and quickly synthesising it into patent documentation” (2025).
Armin is a prolific author on a variety of IP issues, with articles published by Law360, Bloomberg Law, ABA’s Business Law Today, IPWatchdog, Retail Touchpoints, The Journal of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Law, and others.
He is also dedicated to mentoring and supporting the career development of junior associates, as well as maintains an active pro bono practice, aiding underprivileged business owners seeking intellectual property protection.
