Hunton & Williams LLP today announced that Andrew J. Turner has rejoined the firm as Senior Attorney, after serving as Chief of General Law in the U.S. Coast Guard.
As a member of the firm’s Resources, Regulatory & Environmental team, Turner concentrates on issues relating to marine and inland waterways, wetlands, natural resources, waterfront and offshore facilities and structures, and vessel issues arising under the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act and the National Environment Policy Act. His clients include water and energy providers, vessel owners and operators, ports, state and local agencies, builders and developers, and trade associations.
Prior to joining Hunton & Williams, Turner served in the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Maritime & International Law as Senior Counsel for Oceans and Environmental Affairs and subsequently as the Coast Guard Chief of General Law. “This is a very broad practice area that overlaps with litigation, commercial transactions, and the regulatory needs of our clients in the vessel industry, ” said Bill Brownell, head of Hunton & Williams’ Resources, Regulatory & Environmental team. “We are very pleased our clients can turn to Andrew for effectively dealing with these complex, emerging issues.”
