Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP represented the lenders, a consortium of commercial banks, in connection with a $591 million term loan financing for the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project, a coal seam gas to liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Australia. The proceeds of the financing were applied to refinance a portion of APLNG’s existing project finance debt.
The Hunton team advising the lenders was led by partner Ayesha Waheed with support from associate Feyi Olufon.
APLNG, a joint venture between ConocoPhillips Australia, Origin Energy, and Sinopec, is the largest LNG producer on the east coast of Australia and, of the east coast LNG exporters, is the largest supplier of natural gas to Australia.
