Hunton Advises on Mississippi Power Company’s $74.83M Qualified Replacement Property Notes Offering
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriter on an SEC-registered offering by Mississippi Power Company (Mississippi Power) of $74.83 million aggregate principal amount of Series 2026A Floating Rate Senior Notes due May 15, 2076 (the Notes). Mississippi Power will pay interest on the Notes quarterly in arrears at a floating rate equal to compounded SOFR minus 0.35%.
Mississippi Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Southern Company. Mississippi Power is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within 23 counties in southeastern Mississippi, at retail in 123 communities (including Biloxi, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Meridian, and Pascagoula), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale to one municipality, six rural electric distribution cooperative associations, and one generating and transmitting cooperative.
