Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised Westar Energy, Inc. (Westar Energy) in connection with the offering of $300 million aggregate principal amount of First Mortgage Bonds, 3.25% Series due 2049.

Westar Energy, a Kansas corporation incorporated in 1924, is the largest electric utility in Kansas. Westar Energy provides electric generation, transmission and distribution services to approximately 712,000 customers in central and northeastern Kansas, including the cities of Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan, Salina and Hutchinson. Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KGE), Westar Energy’s wholly-owned subsidiary, provides these services in south-central and southeastern Kansas, including the city of Wichita. Both Westar and KGE conduct business using the name Westar Energy. Westar Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evergy, Inc.
